iMAGE-CREATE trainees regularly attend national and international meetings, such as SEG conferences that attract 1000s of industry, academic, and student participants with 112 student chapters active in 32 countries. Through corporate sponsorships and a “virtual booth”, we are establishing an iMAGE-CREATE corner to showcase the work of our students at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) meeting in Toronto, attended by 25,000 professionals from industry and government around the world. In addition, iMAGE-CREATE students participate in the Student Minerals Colloquium at PDAC, launched by uOttawa and Carleton in 2010 and now one of the most important industry networking opportunities for our students. iMAGE-CREATE students also participate in the annual Advances in Earth Sciences Research Conference (AESRC) of southern Ontario universities. Internationally, Canadian students present their research at annual meetings of the German Geological Society, the Status Seminars for sea-going research at BGR headquarters in Hannover, and regularly participate in annual meetings of professional scientific societies (GSA, AGU, EGU, SEG, SGA, Goldschmidt: see PUBLICATIONS: ABSTRACTS & CONFERENCES). Several of these scientific meetings are attended by 25,000+ researchers from 100+ countries (e.g., AGU Fall Meeting and EGU in the Spring).
