
SEG Graduate Student Fellowships:
Application deadline: February 1, 2022
One-year fellowships, ranging from US$2,500 to US$10,000, are awarded each year to students who intend to pursue a course of study in economic geology leading to a Professional Master’s, Master of Science (M.Sc.) and/or Ph.D. degree. Students from throughout the world with an expressed interest in pursuing graduate studies in economic geology are encouraged to apply. Graduate Student Fellowship funds are to be used for eligible personal first year graduate study expenses; funds related to research grants should be applied for at www.segweb.org/srg. Awards are competitive and based on merit and qualifications of the applicant.

ReSToRE 2- International Summer School: July 4-8, 2022

Run under the patronage of UNESCO, ReSToRE 2 is a summer school that aims to nurture an interdisciplinary and experiential learning environment for geoscientists and social scientists to address cross-cutting topics and to create a network for all participants and contributors. Specifically, the summer school seeks to bring early-career academics and professionals from developing and developed countries together in the same physical space to foster conversations at the nexus of Earth Sciences and Social Sciences.

SEG Student Research Grants
Application deadline: February 15, 2022
Individual Student Research Grants (SRG) grants are for one year and typically range from US$1,000 to US$5,000. These grants support graduate student research projects leading to master’s or doctoral degrees, and exceptional BS Honors or “BS Titulo” projects. Students in mineral resource study programs throughout the world are eligible and encouraged to apply.

Gordon Research Seminar and Conference: May 21-27, 2022

The Gordon Research Seminar on Geochemistry of Mineral Deposits is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting-edge ideas. This research seminar will bring together young researchers in the field of geochemistry of mineral deposits to present and discuss the latest concepts and newest ideas on key processes across all scales. The seminar will be framed by a keynote talk, given by a mineral deposit geochemist, and a mentoring panel, to discuss future career perspectives in the field of mineral deposits. The GRS is an opportunity for Early Career Researchers (PhD and Postdoctoral Researchers) to showcase their research activities and network.
