Students in iMAGE-CREATE are accessing unprecedented research and training opportunities that combine all aspects of the solid earth geosciences (geology, geochemistry, and geophysics). Canadian and international graduates and postdoctoral trainees are working together in team projects and on expeditions around the globe with expert supervision and access to international research infrastructure. Our goal is for students to get out of the classroom and become engaged directly with the world’s leading experts in geodynamics and georesources.
While working on their own research topics, students are joining sea-going expeditions, attending mapping schools and receiving hands-on instruction in the application of marine and land-based geophysical technology, supported by intensive courses on geodynamics and resources delivered by the collaborating centers. They are gaining significant advantages through national and international networking, professional skills development, and engagement with industry and other stakeholders, preparing them for a range of careers in the Natural Resources, Energy and the Geoscience Research sector.
