iMAGE-CREATE leverages its partnerships to tailor skills training to the needs of our students. Particularly popular are “courses on demand”, which meet the specific demands of the iMAGE cluster (e.g., project management, finance, report writing, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, etc.). Career skills are developed through hands-on learning and in seminars organized in partnership with the universities and professional societies, including team building, writing and defending research proposals, leadership, outreach skills, and science ethics and best practices in research. Many courses are accessible through skills development programs at the partner universities (e.g., Altitude). Canadian students overseas are also supported by programs designed for visiting graduate students in international exchanges (e.g., Integrated School of Ocean Sciences at CAU and GEOMAR and the NextGen@Helmholtz program).
