Success Story: iMAGE-CREATE Alumni Found Mineral Exploration Technology Start-up “Quminex”
iMAGE-CREATE alumni Dr. Marc Fassbender (former iMAGE-CREATE PhD affiliate) and Dr. Alan Baxter (former iMAGE-CREATE research associate and coordinator), along with Prof. Taha Rouabah of the University of Constantine 1, Algeria, have co-founded Quminex: a new mineral exploration technology start-up. Quminex is focused on harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and machine learning to generate new mineral exploration opportunities from multi-dimensional datasets.
Quminex has already been recognized internationally, being one of 10 organizations to receive the “Top Innovator” award from the Quantum for Society Challenge run by UpLink, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. The award was conveyed at the World Quantum Day 2025 event held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In addition to Top Innovator honours, Quminex recently secured pre-seed investments from QV Studio, Quantacet, and Quantonation. This foundational funding lays the groundwork for Quminex growth and further technology development.
