Congratulations to the students of Team Create for being selected as finalists of the Frank Arnott – Next Generation Explorers Award (NGEA™)
The NGEA™ Challenge is an international competition hosted by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) where geoscience students collaborate in teams to work with several high-quality geoscience dataset packages in order to generate their own interpretation of the subsurface geology and mineralization targets.
The students on the team include Liam Maw (Institut national de la recherche scientifique [INRS]), Christopher Galley (Memorial University of Newfoundland), Marc Fassbender, Ryley Penner, and Taylor Tracey Kyryliuk (University of Ottawa). The team is being mentored by Dr. Mark Hannington, with additional external advisory from several colleagues and industry collaborators.
Team Create is one of the six finalists and will be presenting their work on the Flin Flon Dataset virtually at the PDAC 2022 Convention in June. For this year’s competition, a grand prize of CAN$5000 will be awarded to the team with the highest judges’ score overall, in addition to three new prize categories of CAN$3000 each in those with the highest scores in Innovation, Data Integration, and Impact & Exploration Significance.

Congratulations, and best of luck to Team Create!
