Klondike Orogenic Gold and Associated Host Rocks
Alex’s research aims to characterize the orogenic gold mineralization and the associated host rocks in the Klondike District, Dawson City, Yukon. Quartz vein mineralization has been the focus of most previous work, but there are other sources of gold that remain poorly understood. Alex’s project will further explore the area by looking at the host rock mineralization, hydrothermal alteration, and the gold-bearing Klondike Schist.
Alex recently finished his BSc Hon. at the University of Toronto where he completed two research projects as a CREATE trainee under the supervision of Prof. Melissa Anderson. Alex is in the process of becoming a registered GIT with the APGO.
