Brittany Pegg – MSc candidate, Carleton University
Cenozoic Arc Magmatism across Northern Nevada
Brittany’s research focuses on studying a range of Cenozoic (30-38 Ma) felsic to mafic rocks across northern Nevada. She will be using a combination of major/trace element and isotopic (Sr-Hf-Nd-Pb) analyses with the goal of investigating mantle and crustal contamination sources across the Phanerozoic-Precambrian terrane boundary.
Brittany received a degree in Biomedical Science before completing her Honours BSc in Geology at the University of Ottawa in 2021. She is currently writing her Master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Brian Cousens. Previously, Brittany has worked with the Ontario Geological Survey and has been a executive member of the Ottawa-Carleton Universities Society of Economic Geologists Student Chapter since 2018.
