Jessie Kehew – MSc candidate, uOttawa
Lau basin sequence stratigraphy
Jessie is investigating the order of sub-basin opening within the Lau Basin with the use of parasound acoustic data and seismic data. The bounding structures and echo-facies of the sub-basins will be compared to inter-assemblage sedimentary basins of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, with special emphasis on sediment-hosted ore deposits.
Jessie finished her bilingual BSc Hon. at uOttawa in 2020, after several seasons working as a field assistant in Gaspé, QC, and Castle Creek, BC. During her BSc, she completed an exchange term at the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, Chile. Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Jessie joined the working group of Mark Hannington at uOttawa in 2020 for her MSc project.
