
PDAC – SEG Student Minerals Colloquium Award Recipients
2023 PDAC Convention, Toronto, ON
An iMAGE-CREATE student was awarded a prize for their participation in the research poster competition during the 2023 PDAC – SEG Student Minerals Colloquium (SMC).
Rhian Dentelbeck, a 4th year Honours student at the University of Ottawa, won 2nd place for her poster entitled “Intraplate volcanism and implications for crustal growth and metal endowment in back-arc basins: Evidence from the Niuafo’ou Volcanic Complex in the Northern Lau Basin“
The SMC highlights student research concentrating on innovative projects essential for the successful evolution of the modern mining industry. Over the years, this event has featured hundreds of poster presentations from BSc, MSc, and PhD students around the world studying minerals deposits and related disciplines, and provides industry professional with an unparalleled opportunity to support ongoing student research related to the mining industry.
