KEGS-SEG Student Symposium – September 25, 2023
Next Monday (2-4pm EST) the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the Canadian Exploration Geophysics Society (KEGS) is hosting an online symposium aimed at exposing students to the various facets of the mining industry and mineral exploration.
Hear firsthand from leading industry experts who will share their knowledge, experiences, and insights into the state of the industry, future innovations, and emerging trends. The industry and student panels will provide a dynamic and engaging discussion on the present and future trends of the industry, as well as the most sought-after skills you’ll need to stay ahead of the curve.
In addition to the event’s general group discussion, where those attending may ask any question they bring, there will be three Breakout Room Sessions:
- Field Geophysics Acquisition (hosts: Jean Legault, Geotech; Nadine Veillette, Abitibi Geophysics; Anthony Zamperoni, Laurentian University)
- Processing and Interpretation (hosts: Sarah Devriese, Teck; Charlotte Thibaud, DIAS)
- Computational Geophysics (hosts: Diego Domenzain, Seequent; Dominique Fournier, Mira Geoscience; Chris Galley, University of Ottawa)
In each of these breakout rooms more focused discussions will take place regarding each topic.
If you are interested, come join a vibrant and diverse community of aspiring geoscience professionals who share your curiosity, passion, and drive. Connect with fellow students from diverse backgrounds, institutions, and traditions. Discover opportunities for growth and mentorship and build lasting relationships that will fuel your personal and professional growth for years to come.
