Student Minerals Colloquium (SMC) Information and New Dates:
The Student Minerals Colloquium committee has recently announced the NEW call for registration and abstract submission for the 2022 PDAC-SEG Student Minerals Colloquium (SMC). For the first time in its history, the Colloquium will be a hybrid event, taking place in-person and online at the PDAC 2022 Convention in Toronto, Canada. The convention will now take place:
In-Person from June 13th-15th
Online from June 28th – 29th
All students (BSc, MSc, PhD) working on projects with a link to mineral deposits (e.g. mapping, mineralogy, geochemistry, geophysics, environmental, hydrogeology, etc.) are encouraged to participate!
Presenters will have the option to share their research with an audience of academics, students, and industry professionals either in-person, through poster format, or online, with a digital poster and short pre-recorded video presentation. In-person participation is limited to 100 posters, and online participation to 50 posters.
The SMC attracts hundreds of industry participants attending the PDAC Convention, providing the widest possible exposure for student research.
Posters are judged by a panel of academics and industry professionals, and cash prizes are awarded to winners in multiple categories thanks to our sponsors. This year, judges will select six winners for the best online and in-person poster presentations at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels.
Details regarding the format and submission of the posters (print and digital) and pre-recorded video presentations will be provided upon registration.
