Submit Your Video
One of the primary goals is to engage with students and promote economic geology; thus, we would like you to participate in the Earth Day program with two types of videos:
1. A more informal video where students talk about themselves, their origins, their status (undergrad/grad), why they have chosen economic geology, how their student chapter/SEG has helped them develop their careers, and a brief vision of the future within our science. This sounds like a lot, but videos with dynamic talks and short speeches will be the most valuable. The length for these videos should be 60-90 seconds.
2. Technical videos. To participate in this section, students involved in research or projects should share and record a 6-7 minute presentation about their focus, their progress, and the connection between what they have done with minerals and the green transition or sustainability. The idea is to present a broader perspective of economic geology. Using a slide deck for visual aids is highly encouraged.
Both videos will increase the visibility of student chapters and strengthen the relationship between economic geology and society as a whole.
The deadline for the video submission is April 9, 2023.
