“A New Geological Map of the Marginal Basins of Eastern Papua New Guinea: Implications for Crustal Accretion and Mineral Endowment at Arc–Continent Collisions”
A new peer-reviewed article has been published in Lithosphere, an open-access, online-only journal hosted by the Geological Society of America (GSA).
This article was the product of several iMAGE-CREATE members, including principal investigators Dr. Mark Hannington, Dr. Margaret Stewart, and colleagues. It highlights the production of a new 1:1,000,000 lithostratigraphic map of the marginal basins around PNG, which is shot to some world-class copper and gold mineralization. The map also incorporates land geology to create on of the first continuous geological map of a convergent margin.
The article can be accessed here, on the GeoScienceWorld website. To see a list of all other publications produced by iMAGE-CREATE members, see the publications section of the website.
